Skincare Empties

I’m currently shopping my stash for makeup and skincare before I allow myself to get anything else, and I’ve made progress. Here is a roundup of some products I’ve finished and I’ll share some quick thoughts about each of them. This time it’s all skincare!

23 Years Old Badecasil Docto Toner*

I was sent a few products to try from the Korean skincare brand 23 Years Old. It does a good job of a toner to hydrate and cleanse but I didn’t love it. It leaves a tacky feeling on my face which other toners that I love do not. Unfortunately I won’t be repurchasing. Hopefully the other products work better for me!

Tarte Mermaid Skin Hyaluronic H2O Serum

A dear friend recommended this to me. I loved how the texture is almost like water and my skin absorbs this serum so fast. I really liked the product for its purpose of deeper hydration. I would repurchase again (once I’ve finished all my other serums).

Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer (Travel Size)

This was my holy grail moisturizer from back in the day because it worked well with my skin. It has SPF as well so I don’t need to put on a separate sunscreen. I would still recommend this to everyone to try if they haven’t yet. I will not be repurchasing though since I use the Aveeno Absolutely Ageless daytime moisturizer now.

TO112 Hand & Body Wash*

I was gifted this at a press event held at Medulla & Co. in Yorkville. It has a strong, organic scent with notes of lemongrass, sage, and citrus. It took some time for me to get used to the fragrance, but I came to love it. I used it as a body wash in the shower. I will not be repurchasing as it’s a bit pricy of a body wash for me, but I would consider treating myself to it if I’m ever conveniently in the Yorkville area to pick one up.

Shiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Concentrate (Sample Size)

This serum was nice but it did not have any particular impression on me. It didn’t give me any reactions, nor did it deter me in any way.

Ole Henriksen Banana Bright Eye Creme

Eye creams are a product that I’ll use, but likely will not see results immediately. However I liked the creamy texture of this one and it wasn’t heavy on the eye area. I will not be repurchasing it as I have other eye creams to use, and some that are not as expensive.

What have you finished up lately? Any products to note?

*Products were sent as PR samples for editorial consideration. All thoughts and opinions are my own and genuine.

Until next time,

  1. I’m in the same boat right now, although progress has been super slow, hahaha. I’ve been using the Aveeno positively radiant daily moisturizer for ages too! Debating on if I want to keep using that or get a different one also with SPF!
