Masks are my favourite at-home, self care treatment! I typically enjoy sheet masks more but when Influenster sent me two of the Vichy Mineral Masks, I was quite excited to try.
There are five variations available, depending on what skin concern it addresses. I had the privilege of trying the Soothing Aloe Vera Mask* ($34 CAD) for reducing redness and the Purete Thermale Charcoal Mask* ($34 CAD) for clarifying/cleaning pores. They’re all made with Vichy’s mineralizing thermal water formulations and it’s said to provide immediate effects. The other variations available in this range are:
- Double Glow Peeling Mask – exfoliates and brightens
- Quenching Mineral Mask – hydrates and refreshes
- Pore Purifying Clay Mask – purifies and refines pores
You can get these Vichy Mineral Masks at Shoppers Drug Mart.
The masks have a smooth, whipped texture. The black, kaolin clay mask is thicker in consistency as expected whereas the aloe mask is lighter. I use both of the masks at the same time and apply them to different areas. I apply the clay mask in my T-zone where I get the most oily and the aloe mask everywhere else. They’re super easy to use as you only need five minutes with the masks on. I wash it off when the time is up and I go through my usual skincare routine after. My face definitely appreciates the masks and I had no reactions to them. The patches where I had breakouts or texture were not as red or bumpy after using them, so visible effects were indeed immediate. I can’t confirm if the masks provided immediate effects in terms of clarifying and clearing up pores, but I haven’t had a breakout yet since using them once a week.
You get quite a substantial amount of product in each. I’ve used up the aloe mask much faster since I layer on more due to the lighter consistency, and I just started making a dent in the charcoal mask. They’re pricier for a face mask that’s available at the drugstore but they’re among the ones available that are great options to buy or gift. The packaging is beautiful in their glass jars.
Which one are you most interested to try? Have you already tried any of these?
